Message Sounds like an idler for sure. I would recommend doing idlers, new belt, tensioner, any seals if its been a long time. Typical 60K probably.

I have spent a year on my car working out sounds a small issues with premature idler bearing failures and I have narrowed it down to either the Gates Kevlar Belt, or an early revision UR UD pulley.

I had the bearings in two brand new OEM idlers fail on me in less than a year (~2000 miles) where they were making more then enough noise for me to pull them. I was only able to fix this issue by going back to a OEM timing belt and replacing the UD pulley, with an ATI street damper. I am convinced that either the tension of the kevlar belt, or some combination of that without a damper/harmonic balancer was resulting in the idler pulleys taking a beating, who knows what else. End result, I now have a car that runs smoother at all RPMs (like major difference) and no unusual sounds. I'd also recommend the goodyear gatorback drive belts they don't seem to develop noise like the gates ones.

Stick with OEM stuff. Try not to reinvent the wheel. The kevlar belt is overkill, and for me, potentially caused more problems than it solved. I could understand if you were making 800-1000whp and needed it, but 95% of street driven Z's are probably fine with an OEM belt. Definitely go with OEM idler pulleys.
